Doctor J stood in the middle of the room and spoke. "Sword?" "Yes, Doctor J?" "You're dismissed. Go find your brother. I'm sure you want to yell at him for not behaving." Doctor J said smiling. "Thanks, Doctor J. See you tomorrow." Sword said, and ran out of the room.
Doctor J flicked a switch on his walking stick. A wall turned to show a wide screen television. "First, I have to tell you where we all came from. I came from ten years in the future. The other children that you have seen are your children, or rather, what your children will look like in ten years time." Doctor J said. "So," Wufei said." The young man and girl who brought us here were..." "Yes they were Kale and Meiran." Doctor J said. He turned on the television. Seven faces appeared on screen. "These are the gundam Pilots of the future." The screen showed thier information on the screen, one at a time.

Doctor J let the information that they had seen sink in. Relena looked like she was going to faint. "I would never have allowed Katie to fight in a mobile suit, and especially not the Wing Zero." Doctor J looked almost sad as he replied. "I'm afraid that Niether you or Heero had any choice in the matter. None of the Pilots' parents had a choice." "What do you mean by that?" Sally asked, her face going red from fury. "I," Doctor J said. "Will tell you what happened to your children, ten years ago. Then you will understand." The television turned off. "I will tell you everything that happened through your children's minds' eye."

Heero ran to the fences where his father was locking up. Hilde ran after him. Heero stopped short. He saw a man pointing a gun at Duo. "Dad." Heero yelled. "Oh God, DUO!!!" "HILDE, HEERO, RUN NOW." Duo yelled. The man shot Duo through the head. He was killed instantly. Hilde screamed. She ran over to where Duo's dead body was lying on the floor. Heero watched his mum crying. He shook his head in disbelief. The man Laughed with sadistic pleasure as Heero ran to where his little sisters were, in the car. He raised his gun and shot Hilde aswell. The man laughed again as Hilde's still form fell over Duo's dead body. "No one will ever beat Red Lightning." he said and began laughing again. The man turned to look at him. "Don't cry little boy. You're next and then your little sisters. I never leave a job unfinished." He laughed. Heero saw the man raise his gun and aim it at him. Heero ducked and grabbed his father's gun, that was hidden in the glove-compartment. A gunshot rang out. The man dropped his gun, Heero had shot his wrist. The man bent down to pick up his gun with the other hand, but Heero wasn't going to let him get to the gun so that he could kill him. So Heero killed him first. Heero shot him through the head. He dropped the gun and ran to a phone. He was afraid and alone. He called the police and told them that his sisters were there and that a man was dead, aswell as his parents, and he ran away. The other girls were sent to a foster home before the other pilots could claim them and I took them to my institution.
Kale and Meiran got in their parents car. They saw a man tackle Wufei to the ground "Daddy, Daddy." He heard Meiran scream. They saw Sally jump out of the car to run to Wufei's aide. "SALLY!!!" he heard Wufei yell. "Wufei!!" He heard Sally call out. "Let her go, you dishonourable piece of shit." Wufei spat out. Meiran was screaming and he wouldn't let go of her, knowing that if he did, she would jump out of the car and end up being hurt. "Prepare to die, Wufei Chang." the man, holding Wufei, said. He aimed his gun at Wufei's head."NOOO!!! WUFEI!!!" Kale saw Sally scream. A loud gunshot went off. Kale wouldn't let Meiran see Wufei lying dead on the floor. Sally screamed, an agonised scream, and then started wailing. The man, who was holding Sally, let her go. She fell sobbing next to Wufei's still form. "No, Wufei,no, no, no, Oh Gods, Wufei." Sally sobbed. Kale saw Wufei's asassin raised his gun. "MOTHER!!!" Kale yelled, but it was too late. Another gunshot rang out. Sally fell over Wufei's body. Kale couldn't stop Meiran from seeing this. "MUMMMYYY!!!" Meiran screamed. Meiran was sobbing hysterically. Kale saw the man coming, he found the gun that Wufei hid in the back pocket of the car seat. "Meiran, get out of the car now." Kale said. He got out of the car after Meiran. The men were still advancing towards the car. Kale aimed the gun, and fired. Two gunshots rang out. One man was down but the other one was still alive. The man advanced and fired. Meiran fell to the ground. Her leg was shot. "MEIRANNN!!" Kale yelled. The man fired his gun again. He shot Kale in the shoulder. "ARGHHH!!!" Kale yelled. The man shot at Meiran again. This time the bullet hit her chest. Meiran went limp and collapsed on the floor. "NOOO, MEIRANNN!!!" Kale screamed. The man raised his gun to fire again. Kale raised his gun and shot the man before he could fire. The man was dead in seconds.
Meiran was lucky to survive after serious heart contusions. Kale lost alot of blood but was lucky enough to get a blood transfusion in time. There was no way that anyone could've saved Wufei and Sally. Master O went to claim the children from the hospital. He told the children to come with him. They stayed with me and I made sure that they were taught how to defend themselves. They were taught everything that had been taught to their father before them.
Quatre was going to drive to visit Trowa and Midii while the circus was on the same colony. Little Trowa and his brothers and sisters were watching the car drive off with their mother. The car started down the road and then the car exploded. Dorothy started screaming and little Trowa watched as Dorothy ran to where the fire-engulfed car was, five minutes down the road. Just as she was about to pull Quatre out of the car, there was another explosion. The flames engulfed Dorothy. The children heard her screaming.
Trowa couldn't bear to watch and ran away. Red Lightning captured him, but Instructor H claimed the other children and brought them to my institution. We saved Trowa later on and Instructor H taught him everything that he had taught his father.
Trowa, Midii and Catherine were preparing for a show. Little Quatre fed the lions while Mariah watched. they heard a shout and saw smoke coming form the direction of the trailers. Quatre and Mariah ran towards the trailers. They saw that their trailer was on fire. Catherine and Midii were heard screaming fom the inside. They could hear Trowa yelling for help and trying to barge the door down. When the fireman finally came, the screams had stopped. Quatre saw his parents and aunt carried out from the burnt-out trailer on stretchers. He saw blankets pulled over their faces. He knew they were dead. He ran and Mariah ran after him. They were found later on by Doctor S and brought to my institution.
Katie watched her father pace the room. She was sat on the floor next to her mothers chair. She looked up at her mother and saw her looking worried. She also looked at baby Duo. She looked over to the sofa, where her Aunt Noin, Alex and Shina were sitting. Her Uncle Zechs had been declared missing in action after he went to colony L4 on a Preventer mission and failed to come back. Someone knocked on the door. Heero opened the door. A man stood there in a Preventers uniform. He gave his report. Zechs had been gunned down by an asassin on colony L4. He had been shot through the heart. Noin and Relena sobbed, hugging their children to them. Heero could only bow his head as tears threatened to spill from his eyes. Two days later Zechs was buried.
A month later, Heero was walking in the garden with Katie, when he spotted a chestnut brown head in the bushes. The head tried to disappear, but Heero was faster. He caught the little urchin and picked him up by the collar. He looked at the boys face and felt like he was seeing a ghost. The boy had cobalt-blue eyes and chestnut-brown hair. He was dressed in a pair of black jeans, a black T-shirt, a pair of black trainers, a black jacket and a black baseball cap. His long hair was tied in a messy braid and he wore a silver crucifix. Katie stared at the boy that her father had caught. "What's your name, kid?" Heero asked him. "My name's Heero Maxwell." the boy said. Katie didn't say anything as she watched her father take the boy inside.
That night at dinner, Heero brought Little Heero downstairs. He was clean and his braid was tight and neat. He was dressed in a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers. He wore a red shirt over the white T-shirt. It wasn't buttoned up and he still wore the silver crucifix. Heero said "This is Heero Maxwell." "Duo's son?" Relena said. "But he went missing after...." Relena trailed off. "But daddy, you both have the same name." Katie said. "Then we'll have to find a way to tell the difference." Relena said. "I know what to do." Alex said. "And what's that, Alex?" Noin asked. "We should just call him H." Alex replied. "What do you think Heero?" Katie asked. "I guess that's O.K." H said.
One week later, a group of asassins stormed the Peacecraft Palace. Katie and H ran to the living room only to see more men. They hid behind a sofa. Some men dragged Relena in to the room. "Mamma?" Katie whispered. Heero and Noin ran in after them. Noin was shot before she even got in the door. "Auntie Noin!!!" Katie whispered and began to cry. H said "Sssshhhh, Katie. If they here us, they'll hurt us." Katie stifled her sobs. H held on to Katie. "Drop your gun, Heero Yuy, or your wife's dead." Heero dropped his gun immeidiatly. Over the years, Heero's cold resolve had melted. He didn't want to lose Relena now. One of the men stood behind Heero and shot him in the back of the head. "NOOOO!!! HEEERROOO!!" Relena screamed. The man let Relena go. She dropped to her knees beside Heero. She cradled Heero's head in her lap. Blood seeped into her mauve dress. "Oh god, Heero." Relena sobbed. The tears flowing freely down her cheeks. One of the man aimed his gun at Relena and fired. She fell forward over Heero's body. The men left the room. Katie and H came out from their hiding place. "What about Duo?" Katie said. "We can't leave him, He's all I have now." "We'll find him, Katie. Don't worry." H said. Katie knelt don beside her parents' bodies. "I promise you, Mamma and Pappa, I will do everything to look after and protect my baby brother." Katie said, bowing her head in respect. H picked up Heero's gun and made Katie stay behind him. They exited the room and made their way to the nursery. Avoiding many men on the way. Katie knew that Alex and Shina were allright because they were at boarding school. They went in to the nursery and Katie went to the crib. Baby Duo was in the crib sleeping. Katie picked him up and H led them out. They were almost out of the palace grounds when a man jumped out of the bushes. Katie screamed. The man grabbed H and he dropped Heero's gun out of shock. Katie put baby Duo down and picked up the gun. "PUT HIM DOWN." Katie shouted. "What you gonna do if I don't, Huh, Little girl. You gonna shoot me with your toy?" The man laughed sadistically. Katie adopted her father's cold, emotionless voice. "This is not a toy. This gun is real. If you don't put him down, I will shoot." Katie aimed the gun, as she had seen her father do many times. The man wouldn't let go. H was going blue. The man was choking him. Katie pulled the trigger. The man fell to the ground. H checked his pulse. "He's dead." Katie gave H the gun and bent to pick up her baby brother. They walked out of the Sanq Kingdom and Professor G and myself found them three years later. We brought them to the institution. Once we got them to the institution, we trained them as we had trained their fathers.

All the Pilots were shocked. What they had heard had disturbed them all deeply. "So all of our deaths' were witnessed by our children?" Trowa asked. "Yes, I'm afraid so." Doctor J answered. "But that's not right." Quatre said. "They should never have had to witness that. It's Injustice." Wufei said. "But if you came here from the future then you have changed it. So the children never had to witness our deaths'" Duo said. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that's just not the case. When we go back to our future reality, nothing will have changed. We could only change this reality. I don't know why it works this way but that's just the way it happens to work." Doctor J said. "Then Why come back in time to stop our deaths' if it changes nothing for you?" Heero said. "May I answer this question, Doctor J?" A young man said from the doorway. He stepped into the light. The others recognised him as Quatre Barton. "You may indeed answer the question, Quatre." Doctor J replied. "We wanted to change things for the children in this reality. We wanted to make sure that the children here, our past selves, would be able to live the lives that we were meant to lead. The lives that we weren't allowed to lead. Lives that were marred by tragedy, death and violence before we reached the age of eleven. I know that I was lucky enough not to lose my feelings, even when I saw my parents and aunt burned alive in their preparation trailer. After Katie witnessed the Red Lightning shoot her parents and aunt, She had to kill to save Hs' life. She was ten years old, she should never have had to kill at the age of ten. H had to kill the man that killed his parents, the man would've killed him and his sisters if he hadn't killed the asassin first. Kale had to kill the men that shot his parents. The men had shot his sister. Meiran was lucky to live. If Kale hadn't killed the men then he and Meiran would've died. Kale feels dishonour because he couldn't save his parents. Katie feels like she brought dishonour to her parents' memories when she shot the Red Lightning asassin. She named herself Sword when she was on the battlefield, she named herself that because she believes she is nothing more then a weapon of death. When she started piloting the Wing Zero she renamed it "FALLEN ANGEL" to show what she believed she was and still is. She believed she had fallen from grace. She's believed that she's a bad child ever since the day she shot that man. Trowa saw his parents die, but he never lost the kind heart that he was born with. Alex and Shina were lucky enough, to have never witnessed either of their parents die. We're doing this because we can stop this from happening again. We can stop our other selves from feeling like they don't belong to this world."
The pilots absorbed this information. Heero and Relena wanted to find Katie of the future and tell her that what she had done was brave, not bad or wrong. The other pilots wanted to find their childrens' future selves, so that they could do something to ease their pain.
Meanwhile Katie and H sat in a room labled COMMON ROOM with Duo. Duo was designing a computor programme. Katie and H were sat on the window sill looking out at the inky blackness. they were sat with their knees up. Their knees touched and they faced each other. Katie had her ams around her knees and H folded his arms across his chest. "I was just thinking about the three years that we were travelling on our own." H said. "We were like a family then." H sighed. "We will always be a family H." Katie said. "We will never be alone because we have each other." H said. Katie and H had been dating for a while. Duo was attached to H as much as he was attached to Katie. To Duo, H and Katie were his adopted parents, he didn't think of them as anything else. It was to H and Katie that Duo came to first when he did something good, or when he acheived something and needed to tell someone. Heero,Duo,Relena and Hilde found them in the same room. "Katie, can we talk to you?" Relena asked the tall, young woman, who looked so much like herself. "I suppose so." Katie replied. "And we'd like to talk to you, Heero." H looked at them. The last time he had ever seen them, they had died in front of him. "I guess you can." H said. Not knowing what else to say.
Heero and Relena allowed Katie to lead them to the dorms, where they all slept during the night time. Before she left she told her little brother to behave himself. He responded with a small nod and a grunt. Katie sat in her room and gestured for Heero and Relena to sit aswell. "We were told about how you escaped from the Sanq Kingdom," Relena said. Katie looked at them with surprise. "We wanted you to know that we're proud of what you did. Your parents, in your reality, would have been proud of you aswell. You looked after your brother, you defended yourself and your friends and you have sacrificed alot." Heero said. He looked at Katie. He could see that the young woman who sat on a chair with her legs crossed, her arms folded on her lap and the eight honourary medals she had earned hanging from her uniform jacket, was not the little girl that he and Relena had raised for the past ten years. But then again this woman had suffered alot in her life. "Thank you for saying that. I was never sure what my parents would've said if they were still alive. But at least I know that they would've been proud, because, In a sense, You are my parents, you're just the Heero and Relena of this reality." Katie looked as though a great weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
At the same time as this was going on, Duo and Hilde were talking to H in his dorm room. "We know what happened to you," Duo said. "and we're sorry that you had to see so much at such a young age." Hilde said. "We never meant for you to lead the same life, that, we Gundam Pilots had led." Duo said. "I have always known that. I never worried about wheither or not you would've been proud of me. I have suffered alot of trauma in my life. I saw both of you die, and then, I saw Katie's parents and aunt die to. I've seen and done so much...." H trailed off. "We know that you travelled around with Katie and little Duo for three years." Hilde said. "Yeah, they're like another family to me." H said. "I made a promise to protect Katie and Duo after their mum and dad were killed. After you died, I travelled around on the streets, and eventually hitched a ride to earth. Heero, Relena and Noin were the only people to care about my wellbeing since you died. Most people had yelled at, chased or beat me. Heero didn't do any of that. He took me in and made sure that I was clothed, fed and clean. I felt like part of a family again. Alex was the big brother that I never had and Shina was the older sister that was full of advice and Katie was my best friend and still is. After Noin, Heero and Relena were killed by the Red Lightning, I vowed that I would look after Katie and Duo, the way their parents had looked after me." H finished. He looked fatigued after revealing so much of his past, to anyone other than Katie, He seemed drained. "How do you feel about Katie." Duo asked, knowing the answer. "Honestly... Katie and I are engaged, but don't say anything. You're not meant to know about what will happen in the future. It can be very dangerous." H seemed almost frantic, but Duo and Hilde were quick to reassure him. "Don't worry, we won't say anything." They said. H smiled. "They were never bad parents, I just hope they stick around longer than my parents did." H thought, as he saw Duo smile back at him. "They're a mirror image of each other." Hilde thought as she looked at them both smiling. "They even have the same cheeky grin."
A siren sounded just then. "I've got to go," H said. "the Red Lightning are attacking the base." H ran out of the room. When Hilde and Duo looked out of the door, they saw the other pilots running down the corridor. All the Gundam Pilots watched the Gundam Pilots of the future running to the hanger, where their Gundams awaited them. "We can only pray for their safe return." Relena thought.
The Pilots got into the cockpits of their Gundams. "Remember your missions," Katie said. Her voice, like a steel rod. "good luck and try to make it back in one piece." "Your faith in us is so reassuring, Captain." Kale's Voice rang out, dripping with sarcasm. "Oh shut up Kale, She's being serious." Meiran said, sticking up for Katie. "Isn't she always?" Quatre said. "Always the perfect soldier." Trowa said. "Don't worry about us Katie, We'll fight to the bitter end." Shina said. "Defending what's right." H carried on. "Just like our Father's did." Lexx finished. "Good luck guys." Meiran called to them, as she watched her brother and her best friends head out for battle, once again.
The Gundam Pilots watched the battle from a window. The battle was ferocious, They saw what they had been used to fighting in, their entire lives, happening right in front of them, and there was nothing they could do to help.
Katie's Gundam was being smashed from both sides, by two mobile dolls, modeled after the Mercurius and Vayate. All of the mobile dolls that they fought were modelled after those particular mobile suits. "No, I can barely keep up and if I can't keep up, then....." Katie looked through her screen. The other Pilots were practically defeated. She looked towards where H was fighting. She saw his suit nearly destroyed. "NOOOO!!!" Katie yelled. She knew only one way to stop the battle. She made a beeline for the Red Lightnings' ship. "Katie are you crazy???" Lexx yelled through the intercom. Katie wasn't listening. She was still going towards the ship. She fought every mobile doll that got in her way. The others took the signal gracefully. They retreated, dragging H's Gundam behind them. Katie was overwhelmed all too quickly, and then captured.
"Oh, God!" Relena saw the whole scene through the window. Heero was speechless. The other pilots had come back. Meiran was in the infirmary, dealing with H's wounds. He was still unconcious. H's sister, Jennifer was helping. "He's lucky to be alive." Meiran thought as she stiched up the deep wound in his arm. She had stopped the bleeding from his head and was working on the other various wounds that H had received. Heero was fuming, as he and the other pilots walked into the infirmary. "What could she have been thinking? letting herself get captured like that." Heero thought. Zechs grabbed hold of Lexx. "How could you retreat like that? You didn't even try to save her." "Katie told us to retreat," Lexx yelled. "She's our commanding officer. As much as we all hated to leave her, we can be courtmartialled for disregarding orders. Look at us, FATHER!!! we're all injured, if we had taken the chance of disregarding orders, we would've all been killed. Katie is the only one of us that wasn't injured. She was trained to be KamaKaze in case of this kind of situation. She'll escape and she won't give out any information." Lexx couldn't tell this reallity's Zechs that he felt like a failure, for just as he had said, He had left his cousin behind. He couldn't feel any worse if he tried.

Katie was tied to a chair with her hands behind her back. Her head was injured and blood flowed from a deep wound. Her vision was blurry and she could barely keep herself awake. She had been sat in the room for hours. A man sat on the chair opposite her. "O.K. Sword. All I want are the codes to the KUSHRENADA space base. You can't take much more. I'll leave you to think about it for a while. I'll be back in three hours." The general said. He stood up and walked over to katie. He grabbed a hold of her chin and lifted it, roughly so that she could see his face. She spat in his face. He backhanded her, across th face, causing her head to rock violently to one side. Katie raised her head, giving the soldier the death glare that she had seen her father use many times. The general laughed. "You are definatly your fathers daughter aren't you?" The general said, and laughed. "If you kinow that, then you should also know tha my father was not one to let his enemies live, for very long." Katie said, smirking. The general punched Katie, in her already, broken ribs. Don't worry Sword. I'll destroy you once I have no use for you." The general growled out. Then he left. Katie was still tied to the chair. She could only pray that Lexx had a plan. Or she was dead.
