A.N. : This is a start of a series I'm going to make and I deleted 'A Deadly Voice', 'Finding The Past', and 'Nightmares. They all kind of sucked so I'm going to replace 'A Deadly Voice' with another better Siren Story and 'Finding The Past' with something top secret! Well until then bye!

'The Beginning Of Our End'

Relena sat on the chair of her office. The amount of paperwork seemed to accumulate during the day. She stared at the small stack of paper and chuckled to herself. /This stuffy room must be getting to me/ She leaned back against her desk chair and stretched her arms. Suppressing a yawn she stood up and walked to her window. She sighed /What an endless day/ She watched as the many cars passed by on the highway. Relena wrinkled her nose slightly at the sight of traffic. /No wonder it is so hard to attain peace if we can't even do something as simple as follow the speed limit/ Relena looked at the clock. /Only 5 in the afternoon?/ Her eyes turned back to the stack of papers. She walked to her desk and with a tired sigh sat in her chair. /What a tiring day.../

Relena walked from the huge building sighing. Her feet ached. Her hair looked like it would become gray any minute. Her voice was hoarse from talking endlessly about something that was lost in the conversation or more likely the argument. To top off her 'wonderful' day she had a splitting migraine. /How wonderful.../ Relena thought while she rubbed her temples. As Relena neared her car she tried to cheer up /Come on Relena! Tomorrow is another day.../ Relena sighed wearily. /Tomorrow is another day.../

Relena lay in her bed and turned on her side to look at a photograph by her side. It was taken after the war of A.C. 195. It had everyone. It was taken nearby a hospital on L1. Hilde was leaning on Duo for support. Both had huge grins on their faces. Dorothy was by Quatre's side along with Trowa and Catherine. All four were smiling happily. Wufei was on Sally's left. Both smirking at the camera. On Sally's right stood Noin with a sad smile upon her face. Relena stood in the middle with Heero by her side. She had a small smile and Heero's face was expressionless. It had been such a wonderful day then. She turned her attention to the picture on the left. It held Wufei and Sally with their arms crossed and smirking. Duo and Hilde were grinning again. Quatre and Trowa were smiling side by side. To their left stood Relena and Heero. She was supporting him a little. He never fully recovered and in the middle was Marimeia in a wheelchair and Lady Une. She insisted on the picture. Relena wanted one last photo before he left. She knew he would once he recovered to full health.

Relena sighed and set the picture down. She turned and saw one the very few pictures she had of Heero. He was standing under a tree outside the hospital. Duo had a camera at the time to make special memories. He clicked and snapped all day. Relena picked up the picture and stared at it.

"Shall I wait for you?" Relena asked the picture.

Of course she received no answer. She gave up her search for Heero long ago. She came to a conclusion that he had some feelings for her. But they might not be the same feelings as she has for him. Did she love him? It must be love.....to wait this long for him and still love him. Even if it isn't love she can't seem to forget him or love anyone else like she does him.

"Do you love me Heero?"

She still received no answer from the photograph. Relena stared at the photo before laughing coldly.

"Of course not...You probably have forgotten me by now. You didn't need me....You never cared for me did you Heero?"

Her laughter continued until Relena threw the picture across the room. It seemed to fly gracefully until it hit the wall. The impact of the throw caused the picture frame to break and shatter. Relena stared at the fallen photo and slowly fell to her knees. She had her head bowed as she whispered

"You'll leave me in the dark, won't you? You'll keep me waiting forever, won't you?" Her question echoed throughout her empty room.

"I'm nothing to you. Nothing other than a symbol of peace to you and everyone."

She lifted her head revealing the tears that coursed down her face. She leaned back against her bed and closed her eyes. Her head tilted towards the ceiling of her plain room.

"Never again shall I be used." Her soft voice echoed through the room. "Never again shall I'll be seen as a symbol of peace rather than a human being."

She opened her eyes and looked at the shattered picture.

"Never again will I be hurt by anyone."

She whispered to herself, suppressing her tears. She stood up and picked up the frame.

"Ever..."

After sitting and staring at the shattered portrait Relena stood up slowly. Unknown to her of a pair of eyes watching in the shadows with a solemn expression. Relena picked up the picture and dropped in her trash bin. /I don't need this heart ache.../ Relena cleaned up the mess and washed herself up. /Tomorrow I have to got to the meeting on the new colony X67489293...I need to get some rest/

Heero rubbed his temples. He walked to the Preventers headquarters from just watching Relena. He had accepted the job of being her body guard from afar. He had done a check on the shuttle and her mansion. Everything seemed in order so far.

Heero sat down and opened the intercom link.

"Have you done a check of the building for Vice Foreign Minister Darlian's meeting?

Another preventer officer was on the screen.

"Yes sir officer Yuy. Everything is secure here." Heero nodded "Good. Dioka, be sure to report to Maxwell."

The boy nodded "Yes sir."

Heero then terminated the link. Closing his eyes Heero got up and walked back to Relena's home. He was her escourt after all.

After terminating the link with Heero, Diako turned to the man standing besides him. "Everything is in order." Diako told the man glancing at the long braided unconscious boy, gagged and tied, on the ground.

"Very well done." Answered the man.

"We may succeed in eliminating both, Miss Darlian and Mr. Yuy. Well done Diako."

Diako nodded

"Thank you general Katoli."

Katoli smiled in the darkness.

"Let us get the plan in action."

Heero walked Relena down the walkway to the shuttle. Both concentrated on nothing more then getting on to the shuttle. Once they were aboard the shuttle safely Relena sat down near a window with Heero besides her. Relena stared outside the window. How could she feel so lonely when she was with the person she loved most? Relena watched out of the corner of her eye, Heero typing away on his laptop. She felt a little uncomfortable with him sitting so close to her. She brushed the feeling away. He wore his trademark tank top and blue jeans. His face as expressionless as ever. His eyes stilled seemed as lively and bright as they ever were. Relena couldn't help, but smile. He had also grown much taller then her. Relena turned her attention back to the window next to her. They were already in space. Relena stared in to the vast area. The stars that seemed so small. To only seem as little lights decorating the vast space, but in reality these stars were very big and bright enough to send light millions of miles away. But to Relena this vast area seemed to compare very well with her own life. /So vast....empty....lonely...../ Her soul seemed to be missing something. It wasn't long until she found out what or who was that missing piece in her life. /But he doesn't need me....He doesn't love me...does he?/

After the long shuttle flight Heero and Relena arrived at the meeting a few minutes early. Relena took a seat closets to the entrance and Heero sat besides her. Relena still thought it felt odd sitting so close to him. Relena began tapping her fingers against the wooden table. After a few minutes of this Heero reached to grasp Relena's hand. Relena turned to Heero and mumbled an apology. Suddenly an explosion was heard. It was small and sounded distant.

Heero was up in an instant. His gun in hand. He grabbed Relena's arm and pushed her out the door. The explosions grew louder. Relena was being pulled along by Heero through the building. Heero stopped for a moment. Determining which direction to go. Relena was breathing heavily. She glanced down the hall and saw a man in preventers uniform aiming a gun at herself and Heero. Relena gasped and turned to Heero.

"Heero!"

Heero turned around to see the man down the hall with a gun pointed directly at him and Relena.

"Diako.." Heero growled aiming his gun at Diako. Diako smirked.

"Hello Colonel Yuy and Miss Darlian. Maxwell won't be able to meet you today Yuy."

Heero took a step forward and made sure Relena was behind him. Relena stood behind Heero. /What is going on? He must be trader? He caused the explosions?/ Relena's thoughts were broken as she heard Heero growl

"Run...." Relena looked at Heero and Heero turned to glare at her

"Now Relena!" He shouted as he took aim and fired at Diako.

Relena took off down the halls. She remembered hearing 2 gun shots. /Please be okay Heero.../ Relena stopped when she reached a dead end. /The roof collapsed in this part of the room..../ Relena looked around /I should go back and find Heero.../ Relena stopped dead in her tracks to see a tall man. He wore preventer uniform as well. He had a smirk across his face. He was another traitor solider. His features were terrifying. Relena saw a glint of metal reflect off the remaining lights. He lifted the gun and pointed it at her. Relena just stood there. Never flinching at the gun nor his maniacally gaze.

/So...this is how my life ends?/

Relena wasn't afraid. As the man pulled the trigger Relena looked beyond him and saw Heero. His shoulder was bloody, but he kept running. His gun pointed at the man before him. Relena didn't know why, but fear seemed to pass through her. Was it fear of Heero being killed? Of herself being killed? She honestly didn't know. Heero shot the man in the head. But he was too late. The force of the bullet caused Relena to fly backwards a few paces and she hit the wall. As she slid to the floor she noticed she felt no pain.

She looked down at herself and noticed blood flowing freely from her chest. Soaking her white blouse and suit jacket with a crimson stain. Relena looked back up and saw Heero running towards her. She tasted something metallic in her mouth. She reached up to touch her lips. Her finger tips met with a sticky red fluid. Warm to the touch. /blood..../ Relena touched her lips again and found the same red liquid /My blood.../ Relena felt the floor shaking and looked up to see the ceiling falling down on to her. Then Relena was lost to darkness.

Relena opened her eyes and felt an unbearable pain. She looked down and noticed that her fingers were resting on her crimson covered stomach and coated in blood She felt sick and she was cold. Very cold. Relena shivered and noticed something in front of Her. She saw Heero kneeling before her. He was also covered in blood. Her eyes went directly went to his shoulder. She tried to say something, but only a groan sounded from her lips. Heero looked up at Relena. /Was that.....fear? Concern?/ Heero's eyes showed something....Was it fear? Or concern? Relena tried to stand, but the pain was too much. Her head hurt as well. Heero held her down.

"We're trapped Relena. For the time being. The explosion caused the roof to collapse, blocking our exit."

Relena looked behind Heero and saw all the rubble and concrete blocking their passage. Relena nodded and started to close her eyes. Suddenly Heero put his hands on her checks forcing her to look at him.

"Stay awake Relena." Relena looked at Heero with hooded eyes.

"But I'm so tired...." Her voice trailed off. Heero shook his head.

"Relena if you fall unconscious now you could end up in a coma and you may not awake from it."

Heero's voice was monotone as he answered. Relena's eye lids became heavier by the minute.

"I'll try Heero...I'll try..."She whispered. Her eyes were glazed over and she stared lazily in to Heero's purssian blue orbs. Heero nodded and removed his hands from her cheeks.

Relena had no idea how much time had passed. She had barely noticed the fact that her breathing was getting shallow and her vision becoming blurry. She also noticed that Heero was becoming a little sluggish. /Loss of blood..../ Relena thought. She must have lost a lot of blood. She had applied little pressure on her wound, For the pain was too great. Heero was trying to remove some of the rubble that was blocking their exit. Heero seemed frustrated and stopped. Heero walked over and slumped besides her holding his injured shoulder. Relena turned to him and smiled softly.

"Heero....are we going to die?" Relena asked her voice soft and hoarse.

Heero grunted in response. Relena took that as a no, but hope was becoming very thin. Relena rested her head on Heero's uninjured shoulder. She felt Heero tense, but she ignored it. She was just too tired to support herself. She heard Heero sigh softly. They stayed like that for a while. Both losing their strength slowly. Relena smiled again and for some reason she blurted out the words she always wanted him to hear.

"I love you...." Her voice was soft, but Heero heard her words clearly. He couldn't tell if she was delirious or she meant it. He had no idea who she was talking to. Heero turned to look at Relena. Relena looked pale, her eyes were glazed over, her breathing had become ragged, she also lost a lot of blood. Heero turned to his own wound. It wasn't as bad as Relena's. He would live. Relena would live as well. Hopefully.

Heero stood up at the sound of voices. They were slightly muffled. Relena watched with slight interest. She had gone in and out of consciousness many times. She was so tired. The pain was starting to numb. She was getting cold as well. They both stared at the rubble moving slightly. Heero tensed. He knew it wasn't help.

"Sir we need to get more help!"

"I know Yuy and Darlian are in there! Just kill Yuy for now! Get Darlian, the preventers may be coming!"

"Yes sir!"

The rubble began to move again. Heero turned to Relena and picked her up. Heero stood against the wall, blending in to the shadows.

Half An hour later the rubble finally cleared away and one by one the soldiers entered in to the enclosed space. Three soldiers stood there scanning the darkness.

"Sir there is no activity in this area. They aren't here sir, out." As soon as the solider terminated the link Heero knocked him, along with the other two, out cold. Carrying Relena, Heero squeezed through the small opening. Wincing slightly as a piece of metal scraped his wound. Relena had become unconscious again. They had to find the exit soon.

"Team 495 move to section B, out."

No answer

"Team 495 to section B now, out!" Came a voice from the communicator.

"TEAM 495!!!"

Still no answer.

"Damn it!"

"Team 495 is gone. Team 673 search section B, Team 944 follow me. Let's move! We can still get Yuy and Darlian!" Yelled their General Katoli. "Find them now!" Both teams went their sperate ways to find Relena and Heero.

Heero ran down the path with his gun in his uninjured hand. He held Relents unconscious form as he ran down hall after hall. Looking for the stairs or window. Some sort of exit. He halted when he heard foot steps.

"Damn it!" He cursed under his breath.

He laid Relena on the ground and made sure she was out of site by the corner. He looked in the direction of the foot steps and held up his gun. Soon 10 soldiers ran down the hall and started firing as Heero came to their view. Heero shot back and used the other corner as a shield. Looking back at Relena, Heero shot down a few soldiers killing them instantly. One solider got Heero in the leg, but Heero killed him before he could get another shot. All soldiers now lay on the ground. Tired and exhausted Heero double checked the hall and waited For more soldiers to come. After a period of time, no other soldiers came. He walked through the bodies of laying soldiers to confirm their status. All were dead. Heero limped to where Relena lay. As he turned the corner a shot rang out through the hall hitting the hand that held his gun. Heero dropped his gun at his feet and quickly turned to come face to face with a man holding a gun. Aiming for him.

Heero held his hand and glared coldly at the man before him.

"Who are you?"

The man smirked "I'm Katoli. Now Yuy, where's Darlian?"

Heero grunted, but didn't answer. /Damn it! I should have hid her in one of the rooms/ Katoli just smiled and shot Heero's right arm. Heero winced and started to slump to the floor. Heero kneeled on the floor holding his new shot wound and glared at the man coldly.

"Tell my Yuy. Or shall I just kill you now!"

Heero said nothing. All he did was continue to glare at Katoli. Minutes passed and Katoli started to grow impatient.

"Fine. You die now!" Katoli took aim to kill Heero. A shot rang through the floor.

Katoli fell to the ground. His gun sliding from his hand to Heero's kneeling form. Heero looked down at the gun and turned to where Relena was. He found her holding his gun that he dropped before, still aimed for Katoli. She was sitting up. Her breathing was ragged and her eyes were wide. Heero stared at her. He was clearly shocked. Standing up he took the gun from her tight grip. He walked over to Katoli and checked for a pulse. He found none. He saw the concern and shock clearly upon her features. Heero walked up to Relena just as she fell to the floor unconscious. Heero caught her before she hit the ground. He placed her down on the floor gently and looked up when he heard voices.

"It's Duo! Is he all right!?!" Came a female voice

"He look's fine! Look for Heero and Relena!" Came another voice. This time it was male. Heero's vision became blurry before he was clamed by darkness.

Heero awoke in a hospital bed. A bandage were found on his right leg and both arms. His head was bandaged as well. Heero looked next to him to see a smiling Duo stuffing his face with food. Sitting next to him was Hilde smiling as well. Heero groaned and closed his eyes. Duo stopped eating and turned to Heero.

"Well, good morning sunshine!" Duo receiving no answer suddenly turn serious.

"Man Heero! You have no idea what happened to me. I was caught a week before the meeting at colony X67...whatever it was and they..."

Heero opened his eyes and one person registered in his mind. /Relena!/

"Where's Relena?!"

The room became quiet. Heero glared at both Hilde and Duo when they never answered. Heero started to get out of bed when Hilde rushed to keep him down.

"Heero, Relena...she will be fine she-" Hilde was cut off by Heero.

"Where is she?"

Hilde sighed and sat down on Heero's bed. "Heero, after we found both you and Relena unconscious we got worried and you were rushed to the hospital. Your injuries as well as Relena's were very serious. You recovered quickly, but you still need your rest Heero."

Hilde said pushing Heero to a lying position. Heero pushed her away and glared.

"That doesn't answer my question."

At that moment Sally came in smiling at them.

"Well, hello Heero. It's good to see your awake." Heero glared at her.

"Where's Relena?" Sally's smiled faded. "Heero you should rest you've been out for a week and your still not healthy en-"

"Where is she?" Heero's tone caused Sally to stop. She sighed.

"Relena was in critical condition when she got here. Both you and her lost a lot of blood. You both needed blood transfusions. You had several shot wounds on your shoulder, arm, leg and your head has a small concussion. Right now it seems you'll recover fine. Relena on the other hand is still unconscious. She has a shot wound in her chest. It's just below her right lung. Luckily it was off by a couple inches. She also has a much more serious concussion than you Heero." Heero nodded to this information.

"Can I see her?"

Sally shook her head. "Your still in bad shape Heero. Besides she'll be fine without you."

Heero could sense the tension in the room. Their weren't telling him everything. The were hiding something.

"What else Sally." Sally stared at Heero for a moment.

"What do you mean Heero?" Heero glared coldly at Sally making her flinch slightly. Sally knew she lost and answered him softly.

"She's in a coma."
